AMC College of Engineering has taken a momentous step in enhancing cybersecurity within its campus by launching the CopConnect Café, sponsored by Zscaler as part of their CSR efforts. This collaboration creates a hub for cybercrime victims to receive critical assistance from a multidisciplinary team that includes First Responders, Cyber Psychologists, Legal Advisors, and Technical Experts.
At the heart of the CopConnect Café is the HONK device, which offers cutting-edge protection for the digital environment by monitoring and identifying potential cybersecurity threats. The café provides a safe space for victims to connect with professionals who can address technical, emotional, and legal aspects of cybercrime.
The inauguration was graced by notable guests, including Dr. Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, Chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Women, and key representatives from Zscaler. The event showcased the café’s mission to train faculty and students as Certified Cyber Crime Intervention Officers (CCIOs), creating a robust network of first responders equipped to handle cyber threats.
With the support of AMC’s dedicated staff and students, CopConnect Café is not only a resource for the college but also serves the broader community by providing accessible solutions to cybercrime challenges.
Inaugurated by Honorable Mr. Justice H.P. Sandesh of the Karnataka High Court, the CopConnect Café at DSATM marks a significant step towards creating a cyber-aware campus. With continuous support from Zscaler, ISAC, and the local community, the café is poised to make a lasting impact by raising awareness, offering first aid, and providing critical interventions for cybercrime victims.
This platform offers DSATM students and faculty a safe and supportive environment where they can seek assistance on cybercrime-related issues. The café features the innovative HONK machine, which monitors devices for potential threats without accessing private data, safeguarding digital security for the entire community. Additionally, faculty members are trained as Certified Cyber Crime Intervention Officers (CCIOs), empowering them to become cybersecurity advocates.
